BBM update to add user requested features

Since the BlackBerry Messenger service finally went cross-platform with iOS and Android apps, the company appears to be going all out to make it the best that it can be. The company previously pledged that new features and improvements would arrive regularly and now a BBM update is to add some features most often requested by users.

Earlier this month BlackBerry offered further Android support to its BBM app and following this confirmed that BBM would be coming to the Windows Phone platform, and also the newly announced Nokia X lineup.

At the moment, people in a multi-person chat are able to share notes, location and send files from the cloud. However, one of the most requested features from users of BBM, according to BlackBerry, regarded being able to share pictures when in a multi-person chat.

Now the company says that this is being added to the next BBM update. The size of a file shared during multi-person chat is also going to be increased to 16MB from 6MB and the size of emoticons will also be enlarged.

There's no word yet from BlackBerry on exactly when this next update will be coming to BBM, but hopefully it won't be too much longer. It's certainly good to know that BlackBerry is listening to customer feedback and continuing to improve and upgrade BBM, and we wonder what you feel about this.

Are you happy to hear about the improvements being made with the next update to BBM? Let us have your comments on this.
