Sunday night's 'In Memoriam' tribute at the Oscars served as an emotional reminder that Hollywood has lost several of its star players in the past year - including actors James Gandolfini, Shirley Temple Black, Philip Seymour Hoffman, and film critic Roger Ebert.

Glenn Close introduced the nearly four-minute montage, which featured 47 names of contributors across the entertainment industry.

Novelist and screenwriter Elmore Leonard, actor-director Harold Ramis and 'Fast and Furious' star Paul Walker - who also appeared in the Oscar-nominated film 'Pleasantville' - were among the honorees included in the televised tribute, but social media users took note of a few big names left out.

'Law & Order' actor Dennis Farina, who also appeared in the Golden Globe-nominated film 'Get Shorty,' was among one of the tribute's notable 'snubs.'

Some social media users expressed disappointment that novelist Tom Clancy, whose books have resulted in several Oscar-winning and nominated films like 'The Hunt for Red October' and 'Clear and Present Danger,' and comedian Jonathan Winters were not included in the televised tribute.

Instead, Clancy and Winters both appear in the Academy's online 'In Memoriam' gallery.
