Recap: St. Louis vs. Detroit

Jupiter, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Miguel Cabrera went 3-for-4 with a pair of two-run homers and Nick Castellanos added a three-run shot as the Detroit Tigers hammered the St. Louis Cardinals 17-5 in Grapefruit League play.


Castellanos finished 3-for-4 with four RBI.


Steven Moya also drove in four runs while Rajai Davis and Danny Worth added two RBI apiece for the Tigers, who went 11-for-20 with runners in scoring position. Starter Max Scherzer scattered two hits and struck out five over 4 2/3 innings.


Stephen Piscotty smacked a three-run homer and Pete Kozma drove in a run for the Cardinals. Shelby Miller allowed two runs on five hits and struck out for over 2 1/3 innings.

Giancarlo Stanton hit a long home run for the second straight day, a two-run drive off Jack Leathersich in the seventh inning that hit the top of a practice field behind the left-field wall Monday during the Miami Marlins' 11-1 rout of the New York Mets.
