The San Francisco Giants shoot for another win over Colorado Wednesday.

The San Francisco Giants hope to pick up a game in the standings with a win over the Colorado Rockies.

The Colorado Rockies have been at the top of their game the past few weeks and there hasn't been too many times we have been able to say that in 2014 with neither the hitting or pitching being consistent. The Rockies were cooled off for a night in a 3-0 loss at San Francisco Tuesday with the offense unable to get going. Jorge De La Rosa was the hard luck loser with a two run homer allowed over five frames. That was still too much with the bats getting a double from Justin Morneau. Left hander Franklin Morales faces the San Francisco Giants for the third time in 2014. Morales needs a big turnaround from a 13-5 loss to Miami where he gave up six runs on eight hits over four frames.

The San Francisco Giants are still in the National League West race but can they avoid the ups and downs they are prone to. It was all up in Tuesday's victory and the Giants can thank starter Madison Bumgarner. Bumgarner has struggled at home but dominated the Rockies with a complete game one hitter while recording 13 strikeouts. The offense managed five hits with Buster Posey slamming a two run homer and a solo jack while Hunter Pence walked twice and scored. Veteran Tim Hudson looks to string the wins together when he takes the mound versus the Colorado Rockies. Hudson is 1-1 over his last three outings with 5.28 ERA covering 15.1 innings pitched.

The odds are huge in favor of San Francisco with good reason but Morales has had some success against the Giants. Not that I would bet the Rockies because I won't and probably would sit this out...
