Trailer: Jon Stewart's directorial debut 'Rosewater'

A first look at the project Jon Stewart temporarily left the Daily Show last summer to create has been released - and it looks good.

The Comedy Central host took some time off (while John Oliver adeptly filled in) to film his directorial debut, Rosewater. Based on the memoir Then They Came for Me, the movie follows journalist Maziar Bahari (Gael García Bernal) traveling to Tehran to cover the Iranian elections for Newsweek. He is eventually arrested and accused of being a spy.

'They can imprison you ... but they cannot take your hope.'

Rosewater premieres this weekend at the Telluride Film Festival and will be screened during September's Toronto Film Festival. Look for the movie's limited release on Nov. 7.
