Ubisoft Compensates for Assassin's Creed Unity Bugs With Free DLC, Games
Assassin's Creed Unity didn't have the smoothest of launches. It's reached a point where the game's many bugs have been made into memes.
And though the Internet has a predisposition towards turning most things into humour, Ubisoft is not in the mood for jokes. The game's already received its third patch which promises to fix over 300 bugs ranging from single-player campaign crashes to save game corruption.
This isn't all. In a surprise move, the company announced that its giving every owner (PC, PS4, Xbox One) of the game a free copy of the upcoming downloadable content (DLC), Dead Kings.
Furthermore, those who purchased Assassin's Creed Unity's season pass or Assassin's Creed Unity Gold Edition can redeem a game for free from a list of six popular Ubisoft titles - namely The Crew, Far Cry 4, Watch Dogs, Assassin's Creed Black Flag, Rayman Legends, and Just Dance 2015. The chosen game can be redeemed for free by March 15, 2015, and is limited to the platform on which Assassin's Creed Unity was purchased.
In addition to this, Ubisoft is stopping sales of the Assassin's Creed Unity season pass. Those who have purchased it will still get the upcoming content as promised while the rest who have not can purchase its contents as they release.

It's a welcome move from Ubisoft given how poor the experience has been for most gamers. While retailers in India have reported strong sales of the game, it's unclear how many Indian gamers would have spent on a season pass given that DLC sales haven't taken off here in a big way. Perhaps the gesture of free content in the way of Dead Kings might just change that.
