Rob Gronkowski said he's ready for Week 1. (USATSI)

After suffering a particularly gruesome knee injury that ended in a torn ACL last December, the Patriots and Rob Gronkowski had looked to Week 1 for the team's star tight end to return to the field.

According to Gronkowski on Monday, he's hit his target nine months after his horrendous-looking injury.

So, great news for the Patriots and for Gronkowski -- who's missed 14 games combined in the past two seasons because of injuries.

Gronkowski, though, doesn't plan to play every single snap on offense.

'Just get out there, get my feet wet,' Gronkowski told reporters, via ESPN Boston. 'Whatever we game-plan this week will be good.'
