Murdoch Promotes Son Lachlan in Succession Plan for Empire (2)

said today it named Lachlan Murdoch, a son of Executive Chairman Rupert Murdoch, as non-executive co-chairman.
At the same time, 21st Century Fox Inc., the broadcasting arm, said James Murdoch will become co-chief operating officer, while Lachlan was named non-executive co-chairman, News Corp. and Fox said in a separate releases today.
'In this elevated role, Lachlan will help us lead News Corp. forward as we expand our reach and invest in new technologies and markets around the world,' Rupert Murdoch said in the statement.
