Wisconsin and Arizona face off in the Elite Eight on Saturday night.

The Wisconsin Badgers and the Arizona Wildcats compete in the Elite Eight on Saturday night in California.

The Wisconsin Badgers defeated Baylor 69-52 in the Sweet 16 on Thursday night. Wisconsin played a great all-around game against Baylor and they were in control for the entire game. On the season, all five of the Badgers' starter's average between 9.2 and 13.6 points and all five have made at least 30 3-pointers this season. Ben Brust is their top long-range threat with 89 3-pointers, giving him a school-record 228 for his career, and Josh Gasser is their best percentage shooter, nailing 45.6 percent of his 103 long-range attempts. Junior point guard Traevon Jackson has averaged 17 points, six rebounds and four assists in the tournament while Kaminsky scored a team-high 19 points against the Ducks despite shooting 2-of-7 from the foul line, a strange stat for a 76.6-percent foul shooter who was 10-of-10 over his previous two games. Wisconsin was not a great rebounding team coming into the game with Baylor, but they out-rebounded the Bears 39-33, thanks to all three guards hitting the glass. The Badgers have won twelve of fourteen overall, with the two losses coming against Nebraska on the road and Michigan State in the conference tournament two weeks ago.

The Arizona Wildcats beat San Diego State 70-64 to advance to the Elite Eight on Saturday night. Aaron Gordon, who is averaging 12.4 points and 7.8 rebounds on the year, leads the Wildcats. Gordon is expected to enter the NBA draft once his freshman season is over and he has put together three solid outings in NCAA tournament victories over Weber State, Gonzaga, and now San Diego State. Gordon averaged 17 points and seven rebounds and made 22-of-30 shots in the three victories while continuing to be a splendid complement to guard Nick Johnson, 16.3 points this season, the Pac-12 Player of the Year. Johnson went scoreless in the 1st half against the Aztecs, but he finished with 15 points and 6 rebounds. Arizona has won ten of their last twelve games overall. The top-seeded Wildcats are making their first trip to the Elite Eight since 2011.

Wisconsin played great against Baylor and I expect them to play a great game against Arizona. The Wildcats struggled against the Aztecs for most of the game but they battled until the end to earn the win. I think Arizona will struggle against the Wisconsin defense and the Badgers will have success with their three guard set on offense. The Badgers are the better team right now and this is a bad matchup for the Wildcats. Wisconsin wins, but I'll take the points to be safe.
