INDIANAPOLIS -- Thanks to Klay Thompson's smooth stroke, the Warriors earned a signature win on their road trip with a 98-96 victory at Indiana on Tuesday.

Thompson hit a fadeaway with 0.6 seconds left, giving him 25 points to lead Golden State to a win against the team with the best record in the NBA.

Paul George's 3-point attempt went off the back iron as the Warriors escaped after blowing a 13-point fourth-quarter lead.

The Pacers rallied with a 12-0 run to tie the score at 94, as Stephen Curry committed two turnovers during the run before stepping out of bounds with 46.1 seconds left and the score tied at 96.

Curry finished with 19 points, eight rebounds and six assists as his backcourt mate caught fire.

The Warriors clung to a 75-72 lead when Thompson began his scoring spree, pouring in 14 of the next 17 Warriors.

His fadeaway to beat the buzzer gave him 16 points in the fourth in what was otherwise a defensive struggle.

Indiana's David West scored a game-high 27 points, and George finished with 26 points and 12 rebounds.

The Warriors led 48-42 at halftime, holding the Pacers to 38.3 percent shooting.
