MOBILE, Ala. - For former Auburn defensive end Dee Ford, Saturday's Senior Bowl was an emphatic finish to a big week.
From the start of Senior Bowl practices on Monday, Ford was the most dominant defensive lineman on the field. Nothing changed at gametime.
Ford had two sacks, broke up a pass and spent much of the afternoon harassing North quarterbacks to earn Most Valuable Player honors and lead the South to a 20-10 victory over the North at Ladd-Peebles Stadium.
'I feel like I made some money,' Ford said, adding that was not his purpose in playing in the game.
Former Auburn cornerback Chris Davis intercepted a pass. Former Auburn kicker Cody Parkey kicked two field goals, including a 50-yarder, and two extra points.
Ford secured his second major award of the week. He was named the top defensive linemen in practices leading up to the game. NFL scouts say he has enhanced his draft prospects and could be a first-rounder.
North coach Mike Smith said Ford forced an offensive change in the second half.
'We had a hard time blocking him in the first half,' Smith said. 'He's an outstanding edge rusher and was very disruptive in the first half, so we definitely had to make some adjustments.'
Ford also spent significant time on the bench in the second half, giving way to other players who had seen little time in the first half.
'I was able to apply some pressure early in the game, and it got me some attention,' Ford said. 'It freed some things up for some other guys. That's just a product of our practice. We've been doing this all week.'
Derek Carr and David Fales threw touchdown passes in the South's victory.

The showcase game for top senior NFL prospects was mostly dominated by the defenses, including big plays from two defenders from national runner-up Auburn. Ford polished off his week by twice sacking Virginia Tech's Logan Thomas in the first half and Chris Davis had an interception.
Alabama receiver Kevin Norwood caught a 24-yard touchdown pass from Fales of San Jose State and received the South's Most Outstanding Player honors.
Wisconsin's James White scored on a 1-yard run with 6:04 left in the game for the North's only touchdown. He was selected the North's Most Outstanding Player.
