Brock Nelson opens scoring thanks to slick Cal Clutterbuck pass

Somebody finally scored a goal at Yankee Stadium on Wednesday night, and it was actually kind of nice.

For the first 38 minutes the Rangers and Islanders seemed like they were destined to play to a scoreless tie at Yankee Stadium.

Nobody could control the puck as it bounced all over the place and turnovers were plentiful.

Then everything started to happen in the final minute-and-a-half.

It started with Brock Nelson getting the Islanders on the board first when he scored his 10th goal of the season, beating Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist from just inside the faceoff dot. The real highlight on the play however is the pass by Cal Clutterbuck to start the sequence as he made the play while falling down.

Sweet play. The lead for the Islanders would be short-lived, however, as Benoit Pouliot answered less than a minute later to tie the game at one, taking advantage of Islanders goalie Evgeni Nabokov being down and out in the crease.
