Injuries cause Walmart card table set recall
A card table and chair set sold at Walmart is being recalled because the chairs can collapse and have led to people losing fingertips and an entire finger, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said.
At least 10 injuries related to the sets have been reported, the CPSC said, including four people who lost part or all of a finger.
The recalled sets were sold under the Mainstays brand for about $50 at Walmart and its website from May until November. The folding tables and chairs are black and padded. The chairs have the label of the company that made the cushions. They read: 'Made by: Dongguan Shin Din Metal & Plastic Products Co.' The recalled sets were made in China and Taiwan.
If you have one of the recalled sets, stop using it and return it to Walmart for a full refund. Consumers with quesitons are asked to call Walmart at (800) 925-6278 weekdays between 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Eastern Times, and from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturdays, and from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sundays.
