The actor reacts to his Oscar nomination for 'Wolf of Wall Street'
Unlike the glib
scammer he plays in The Wolf of Wall Street, Jonah Hill was at a loss for words on Thursday morning.
'I'm just in shock. I was not expecting this. Not even in the slightest,' said the actor, on earning his second best supporting nomination for playing Leo DiCaprio's morally-skewed sidekick. 'I'm so genuinely in shock. I was asleep. I didn't even think to check.'
And he has no plans to party particularly hard today. 'We have the Critics Choice so it'll be so nice to see everyone from the film,' said Hill. 'I'm probably just going to hang out. I'm quite a bit of shock right now.'
He's pleased that the film was well-received by the Academy, especially given any debate that it glamorized bad behavior. 'I don't really understand - I think Martin Scorsese is an amazing artist and his films get you talking afterwards,' said Hill. 'Great art is supposed to start conversation and debate.'
