Ohio State's Noah Spence suspended three games

Noah Spence leads Ohio State with 7.5 sacks this season. (USATSI)Noah Spence will not be playing in the Orange Bowl, nor will he be playing in Ohio State's first two games of the 2014 season. The school announced on Wednesday morning that the defensive end had been suspended for three games.
The reasoning for the suspension was that Spence had 'violated a Big Ten Conference rule.' There was no mention of what the rule was, however the release did say that 'Spence's parents, who did not agree with the rule violation nor the penalty imposed, were assisted by the Ohio State Department of Athletics in exhausting the appeals process that was available to them with the Big Ten.'
Spence did not travel with the Buckeyes to Miami for the Orange Bowl, though earlier this week Urban Meyer did say that he hoped Spence would be able to join the team in time for the game.
Along with the Orange Bowl against Clemson, Spence will also miss games against Navy and Virginia Tech. He'll be eligible to return on Sept. 13 against Kent State.
However, he will be eligible to practice with the team during his suspension.
