Richard Sherman show only begins with big play on 'mediocre' Michael Crabtree
SEATTLE - Richard Sherman 's pass breakup in effect ended the game but it was just the start of the brash cornerback's crazy postgame show.
Sherman clinched the Seahawks' 23-17 victory over the 49ers in the NFC title game Sunday by tipping away a pass intended for Michael Crabtree in the end zone that was intercepted.
The Seattle motormouth then shifted his celebration into overdrive, running over to the Niner receiver to pat him on the backside and seconds later making a choke sign to the Niners' bench. He then followed up by ripping Crabtree on national TV.
'I'm the best corner in the game. When you try me with a sorry receiver like Crabtree, that's the result you gonna get,' Sherman screamed to a stunned Erin Andrews on Fox. 'Don't you ever talk about me!'
After a shower and cool-down period, Sherman, a Stanford graduate from Compton, Calif., continued his rant about Crabtree, calling him a 'mediocre' wideout. Sherman then added 'A-hole fans who write on Twitter and Facebook' to the list of people to thank for inspiring the Seahawks in their NFC Championship win over San Francisco.
'We appreciate the motivation,' Sherman said. 'You helped us win.'
Crabtree fired back on Twitter: 'Film don't lie... @nflnetwork @espn pull up the tape of that game and show me where this guy is the best? #fake #fake #fake'

Sherman, an All-Pro defensive back known for challenging receivers on the field and Twitter, maintained that the preparation put in by the defense came to fruition when he tipped the ball thrown into the end zone and linebacker Malcolm Smith caught it. He insisted that he was ready to prepare for the matchup with Denver and Peyton Manning on Feb. 2 at MetLife Stadium. 'Sherm's going to be the same from the beginning to the end,' safety Kam Chancellor said.
Chancellor said that he knew the tip drill was routine to Sherman by now. Sherman's most memorable tip during the season had come at MetLife Stadium in December when the Seahawks leveled the Giants.
It should make for a long - and loud - two weeks. 'I'm speechless but this is me being speechless,' Sherman said.
