Jay Cutler isn't going anywhere.

The Bears announced Thursday that the quarterback has signed a seven-year contract to stay in Chicago.

Q: Bears have been building around Cutler

Cutler, 30, was eligible for free agency at the end of the season.

He missed five games this season with injuries and 13 games in his five years with the Bears. When healthy, Cutler has led the Bears to a 39-28 record with 155 touchdowns and 112 interceptions.

He completed 15-of-24 passes for 226 yards with two TDs and one interception in Chicago's season-ending loss to Green Bay on Sunday that gave the Packers the AFC North title over the Bears.

Cutler was the 11th overall pick in 2006 by Denver. The Broncos traded Cutler to Chicago following the 2008 seasons for two first-round draft picks.

The team also announced the signing of cornerback Tim Jennings and Matt Slauson.
