Jay Z's Cocktail Is Worthy of a 'Gold Sippy Cup'
When Jay Z won a Grammy Sunday night for best rap/sung collaboration, he held the award aloft and joked, 'I want to tell Blue, 'Daddy's got a gold sippy cup for you.''
If 2-year-old Blue Ivy is good at sharing, Daddy just found the perfect drinking goblet for his custom cocktail, The Code. It's what he'll be serving at any Super Bowl party this weekend.
Made with D'USSÉ cognac (an affordable liqueur that Jay Z promotes), Amaretto, pineapple juice and bitters, The Code is the rapper's go-to cocktail when he relaxes after a gig on his Magna Carter Tour. It's also on the menu at the 40/40 Club, his New York-area lounges in Manhattan and Brooklyn's Barclays Center.
Take a cue from Jay Z and add it to your Super Bowl party menu: It's easy to make at home, and you can prepare batches of it ahead of the kickoff. We have a feeling it'll go great with any game-day snacks, like piled-high nachos or bacon-wrapped anything.
The hip hop mogul has been focusing on food and drink lately. In December, he and wife went on a vegan diet for 22 days; hopefully, the food plan allowed them to wash down all the kale they ate with this drink!
1½ parts cognac (D'USSÉ) 1 part Amaretto 2 parts fresh pineapple juice Dash Angostura aromatic bitters
Shake and strain over ice into a rocks glass. Garnish with a lime wedge.
