Luke Bryan says he has dreamed about headlining stadiums for years. This summer, he'll achieve that goal.

Tuesday, the That's My Kind of Night singer announced the first three stadium dates of his career: June 21 at Pittsburgh's Heinz Field, Aug. 15 at Philadelphia's Lincoln Financial Field and Aug. 31 at Chicago's Soldier Field.

'I had some wise people tell me when I moved to town, 'Aim for the stars,'' Bryan said, while making the announcement on the set for his 2014 tour, which kicks off Thursday in Columbus, Ohio. 'I guess that's when I started dreaming about playing stadiums.'

Bryan, who is the Academy of Country Music's reigning Entertainer of the Year, recalled attending one of George Strait's stadium concerts and also opening for Kenny Chesney at Heinz Field.

Lee Brice and Cole Swindell will open for Bryan throughout the tour. Dierks Bentley will join the lineup in Pittsburgh and Chicago.

Bryan also announced he will play two nights in several cities, including St. Louis, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Indianapolis and Washington, D.C. The That's My Kind of Night Tour will wrap Oct. 25 at Los Angeles' Hollywood Bowl.

Bryan says he has made several upgrades to his touring production from last year, including quadrupling his video screens. 'My main thing is more lights, more speakers, more video, more camera guys, more things to make it a very special, interactive experience with the fans,' he says.
