Wake him up when it's all over.

Superstar DJ-producer Avicii was hospitalized in Miami last night after falling ill, prompting a last-minute cancellation of the show he had scheduled atAVICII Hotel at the SLS South Beach-and now it turns out he needs surgery.

His immediate commitments, including his headlining performance Saturday at the EDM-extravaganza ULTRA Music Festival in Miami, have been canceled. But happily, Avicii was feeling well enough to tweet a detailed update on his condition this evening.

'I'm really sorry but as some of you have already heard, i will not be playing Ultra Festival this Weekend,' the Swedish artist wrote.

' My fans know that I have had issues in the past with my stomach and pancreatitis... I woke up on Wednesday morning with serious pain but I flew to Miami anyway, hoping that it would go away. The pain was still there when I landed so I went straight to hospital. I was treated and left later that night.

'Unfortunately, the pain came back yesterday afternoon and I returned to the hospital where they admitted me to stay overnight,' Avicii, whose real name is Tim Bergling, continued. ' My doctors have decided to operate and remove my gall bladder tomorrow morning.

' It's a routine procedure and all going well, I expect to be fully recovered and back on my feet in time for my US True Tour. Thanks for your concern everyone, it means a lot to me!

'I was with Tim at the hospital last night and this morning,' Ash Pournouri, Avicii's manager, told E! News earlier today.

'He was really disappointed that he wasn't able to come to the AVICII Hotel at SLS and perform for all his fans. He really appreciated all the hard work done by SLS, Ushuaia, At Night and SBE in creating the space. It was frustrating for him not to have seen it. And of course, ULTRA has been so important to us for so many years, it's a big letdown not being able to play.'

While being a huge star on the electronic-dance music scene for years and made history in 2012 as the first DJ to headline NYC's Radio City Music Hall, he had an extra-great 2013. His 'Wake Me Up!,' featuring Aloe Blacc on vocals and Mike Einziger on guitar, was the fastest-selling single in the U.K. after moving 88,000 copies its first day out and it was the No. 2-streamed song on Spotify all year.

We certainly hope the experts get Avicii back on track soon!
