Oscars 2014: Pharrell wears tuxedo shorts on the red carpet

The R&B singer, who is nominated for a best original song Oscar for the 'Despicable Me 2' song 'Happy,' wore a tuxedo jacket with shorts to the black tie awards show.

It's not the first time that the star has donned shorts to a red carpet event. He also wore a similar outfit, along with a beanie, to the 2012 Council of Fashion Designers of America Awards, and a camouflage tuxedo and shorts combo to an event at Miami's Art Basel show that same year.
The 'Get Lucky' singer is known for making casual yet eye-catching style statements, most recently wearing a l arge brown hat to the 2014 Grammy Awards on Jan. 26. The hat became such an online sensation that it even yielded its own Twitter account.

Pharrell will perform his Oscar-nominated song at the awards show, though it's still a mystery if he will wear his famous hat for the performance.
