Bears sign first

The Chicago Bears signed Kyle Fuller, the 14th overall pick in the NFL draft, to a four-year contract Wednesday, the team said. The former Virginia Tech cornerback becomes the first first-round pick in this year's draft to sign.

Fuller's deal is expected to be worth close to that of last year's 14th overall pick, Carolina Panthers defensive tackle Star Lotulelei. Lotulelei earned a $1.31 million signing bonus on a deal worth $4.11 million.

Fuller's deal, like those of first-round picks since the 2011 collective bargaining agreement established a rookie wage scale, includes a team option for a fifth year.

Bears third-round defensive tackle Will Sutton in the team's only unsigned player in the eight-man draft class. Click here for details on the contracts signed earlier this week by five of the six draftees.

Sutton's deal is expected to be completed soon. The Bears begin a three-day rookie camp Friday, and Sutton would be permitted to participate regardless of his contract status.
