Blackhawks send series to Game 7 with 4


LOS ANGELES - The Blackhawks aren't done yet.


The Hawks staved off a second-straight elimination attempt by the Kings to stay alive in the Western Conference finals with a 4-3 Game 6 victory against the Kings.


They will play at the United Center Sunday in Game 7 for a chance to play in the Stanley Cup Final, where they are out to defend their championship.


Patrick Kane scored the winning goal with 3 minutes, 45 seconds remaining in the game to avoid a second-straight overtime game and tie the series 3-3.


The Kings scored back-to-back goals by Drew Doughty and Alec Martinez to start the third period with a 3-2 edge.


Duncan Keith answered with 8:26 left on a smooth pass from Kane.


The Blackhawks scored twice in the second period and goaltender Corey Crawford came up with a flurry of saves for a 2-1 lead in Game 6.


Patrick Kane broke the Hawks out of a road power-play slump with a goal just a little more than a minute into the second period on an assist from Jonathan Toews and Brent Seabrook to tie the game. Ben Smith scored on a wristshot shortly after for a one-goal advantage.


Crawford's presence in the net helped keep the Blackhawks alive and Johnny Oduya came up with a stick save on a wraparound shot by the Kings.


The Kings made it seem like familiar territory at the start, taking a 1-0 first period lead .


Dwight King scored past Corey Crawford for the lead on a wrist shot off an assist from Jarret Stoll and Justin Williams.
