Microsoft acquires mobile push analytics provider Capptain

Microsoft has acquired mobile push analytics provider Capptain and will integrate its solution with Azure.

The Paris-based company allows organisations to analyse customer and employee behaviour in real-time, and respond by pushing targeted messages, announcements, information or offers.

Earlier this week, the company announced that hotel management organisation Accor is extending the use of its solution across more of its mobile applications.

This includes all the rest of its hotel brands (Pullman, Sofitel, Mercure, MGallery, Adagio and Novotel) and also on its B2B app Away on Business by Accor.

Microsoft's Omar Khan said in a blog post: 'Capptain will bring a vital new element to our end-to-end story for mobile app development - real-time user and push analytics.

'We are hard at work integrating Capptain's solution with the wider Microsoft Azure suite of services so that enterprises can not only build mobile apps to engage customers and employees, but also analyse and optimise that engagement.

'In the interim, Capptain's existing solutions will remain available to both new and current customers.'
