Hannibal Renewed for Season 3

Pull up a chair to the dinner table, Hannibal will return for a third season, NBC has announced.


Hannibal's most recent outing attracted 2.76 million viewers and a 1.1 rating in the adults 18-49 demo. Hailing from Bryan Fuller, Hannibal stars as William Graham, Caroline Dhavernas as Dr. Alana Bloom and Mads Mikkelsen as Hannibal Lecter. In its second season, Hannibal has averaged a 1.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 3.6 million viewers overall, according to NBC.


Also renewed by NBC? About a Boy, which will return for a second season.

Starring David Walton, Minnie Driver and Benjamin Stockham, the midseason comedy from Jason Katims has averaged a 2.4 rating and 8.3 million viewers overall, per NBC. (DVR playback is included.)


The good Hannibal and About a Boy news comes on the heels of Law & Order: SVU's 16th season pickup. 'It's official. Thank you #SVUDiehards, cast and crew, Dick Wolf, @Mariska, Bob Greenblatt and @nbc. #SVUSweetSixteen!!,' showrunner Warren Leighttweeted.


Also picked up for the fall by NBC were Chicago Fire, Chicago PD, Grimm and Parks and Recreation, as well as The Blacklist, The Voice and Celebrity Apprentice.
