Obviously, a UCL tear would likely result in Tommy John surgery, which, in turn, would almost certainly sideline Wieters for the remainder of the season.

Wieters has been sidelined since Sunday, but the elbow has been an issue for some time. Per Brittany Ghiroli of MLB.com, Wieters first suffered the injury last month in Boston. This season, the two-time All-Star is off to a tremendous start: .337/.372/.570 with five homers in 22 games.
