Nelson Mandela 'still critical'
Nelson Mandela remains critical but stable in a South African hospital, the presidency has said in its latest health update.
The country's first black president, 94, was admitted to hospital with a recurring lung infection on 8 June.
The statement from President Jacob Zuma thanked those who had sent messages of support from South Africa and around the world.
Mr Zuma last week denied reports that Mr Mandela was in a vegetative state.
People who have seen him say he remains responsive.
'We thank the public for the dignified gatherings outside the hospital,' read Mr Zuma's statement - the presidency's first health update for five days.
Mr Mandela is revered across the world for his role in the fight against white minority rule in South Africa.
He was jailed for 27 years, before being freed in 1990 and elected president in 1994.
He stood down after five years in power.
