A 23

Ryan Riess is having a very good day.

Ryan Riess is doing pretty well for a 23-year-old. He's $8.4 million richer after winning the World Series of Poker main event Tuesday night.

Riess, a Michigan professional who entered the final table fourth in chips, outlasted Las Vegas nightclub host Jay Farber in a three-and-half-hour heads-up battle to win the most coveted tournament in all of poker.

You might say Reiss was expecting this win.

This is going to be the best day of my li-ife

He said back in July that he honestly felt like he was the best player at the final table, even though chip leader JC Tran was a much more accomplished poker pro and heavy favorite to win it all.

Of course, recent history wasn't in Tran's favor.

23-year-old Ryan Riess wins 2013 WSOP Main Event, taking home nearly $8.4M. Each of the last 6 Main Event winners have been under 25.

Although Reiss is surely celebrating his newly won wealth, many are choosing to focus on the tangential success of the Detroit Lions.

Maybe wearing a Calvin Johnson jersey automatically makes you good at things? #poker

The @DetroitLionsNFL need to hook up Ryan Riess with an updated Calvin Johnson jersey. Still rockin' the Reebok - it is lucky though

'I've been dreaming about it for a long time, ever since I was 14 and saw (Chris) Moneymaker (win the title in 2003),' Riess said. 'I just had a great feeling about it. The table was tough. ... But I just had a good feeling about everything.'
