It's no secret that Amazon's relentless low-price push has retailers running scared, with chains ranging from Wal-Mart to Best Buy jockeying to meet the online behemoth's prices one way or another.

But when it comes to the products lining Amazon's virtual shelves this holiday shopping season, does the e-tailer really offer lower prices on some common gift items?

Here's a snapshot of Amazon's pricing on November 25 compared to 22 retailers such as Wal-Mart, Costco, Sears and Target, on five popular holiday products.

The findings are based on the report, Amazon's Pricing Insights, by 360pi, which provides price intelligence to retailers.

Happy shopping!

Action Figures and Toys:

When it comes to action figures and toys, Amazon offers the lowest prices 88% of the time when compared to the 22 retailers, 360pi's report revealed.

Video Games: If you're in the market for one of the hot new video games this holiday, be it Lego Marvel Super Heroes or Rayman Legends, it turns out Amazon was cheaper than the set of 22 retailers 70% of the time.

Coffeemakers:

In the world of coffeemakers, including widely promoted items this holiday like the Starbucks Verismo and models from Keurig, Amazon boasts 'price leadership' over the set of 22 retailers 70% of the time, according to the report.

Consumer Electronics:

In a surprising finding, given pundits' musings that Amazon's convenience/low-price perception among consumers could eventually render Best Buy obsolete, the e-tailer 'fares worst in electronics with price leadership in T.V.s only 48% of the time, and tablets 59%,' according to the findings.
