Minnesota Vikings receiver Jerome Simpson arrested for DWI
Minnesota Vikings receiver Jerome Simpson was in Hennepin County Jail on Saturday morning after being arrested on a misdemeanor DWI charge.
According to a jail spokesperson, Simpson refused a breathalyzer and was arrested on probable cause. Jail records show he was booked at 5:39 a.m. Saturday.
Simpson, 27, is on a 36-hour hold, the spokesperson said. Because it's a weekend, Simpson could be held until noon Tuesday, though a judge could review his case sooner, the spokesperson said.
It wasn't immediately clear how the arrest could impact Simpson's probation stemming from a guilty plea on a felony drug charge in April 2012.
Simpson could also be facing league discipline after serving a three-game suspension last season. He has 33 catches for 491 yards this season.
The Vikings did not immediately return a message seeking comment.
