The Client List Canceled
Lifetime has crossed Jennifer Love Hewitt's drama off their list.
The Client List, starring Hewitt as a single mother turned prostitute, has been canceled after just two seasons on the network, E! News has confirmed.
The cancelation comes after reports of some backstage drama involving Hewitt expecting a baby with costar and real-life fiancée Brian Hallisay. According to Deadline, Hewitt, who also serves as an executive producer, wanted her pregnancy written into the show and for Hallisay to play Riley's baby-daddy, giving him a bigger story arc in season three. That reportedly put her at odds with the showrunner, who favored the other male lead, Colin Egglesfield, as the one to be the father of the baby onscreen. The storyline stalemate is what led to a delayed renewal announcement, and perhaps it is what ultimately led to Lifetime giving The Client List the boot.

'There are many story lines we are exploring,' a rep for Hewitt told Deadline about the behind-the-scenes issues. 'So any suggestion that we are not doing our best to develop a great season is simply not accurate.'
Hewitt announced her pregnancy back in the beginning of June, a couple weeks before the season-two finale. 'This is a wonderful time and we are looking forward to starting our family together,' the couple said in a statement.
The Client List finale brought in only 2 million viewers, down from the season one finale which had 2.7 million people tuning in.
In good news land over at Lifetime, Drop Dead Diva has been granted a sixth season. Silver lining, folks.
