An 11
By Kyle Porter | Golf Writer
It's been a pretty big year for Lucy Li.
In April she won her age division at the Drive, Chip and Putt Championship prior to the Masters. And on Monday she became the youngest golfer to ever qualify for the US Women's Open at age 11.
She's 11!
She broke Lexi Thompson's record (Thompson was 12 when she competed in 2007) by winning her sectional qualifier at Half Moon Bay by seven strokes to earn a trip to Pinehurst in June.
It's going to be tough to have a half-decent encore in her 12th spin around the sun next year.
In case you were wondering, the youngest golfer to ever play in the men's version is Andy Zhang of China.
