NFL Draft will 'likely' move locations, dates in 2015, per report

The premiere offseason event could be seeing a major shakeup next year.

Many fans and media pundits alike were less than thrilled about the NFL Draft taking place in May this year, the first time it has been held after April. Next year, it seems the NFL is looking to split the difference and perhaps in a new venue, according to Peter King of Sports Illustrated.

In 2015, King believes the league is looking to have the draft run from April 30-May 2. While the May draft is somewhat of an insufferable wait for many fans (and likely plenty of front offices), the ratings were up a whopping 30 percent with the later date.

After being held at Radio City Music Hall in New York City for years, it seems the NFL's most important and eye-catching offseason event will be going to another large city or maybe even Cowboys Stadium, something of a dream hatched by Jerry Jones. Other cities involved in wanting the draft include Los Angeles, Chicago and Boston.

The NFL is not happy with Radio City Music Hall after the league was forced to push the draft back by two weeks. The venue originally told the NFL that late April was a no-go thanks to its Easter Spectacular show, only to cancel it, leaving the Hall without any form of entertainment during the typical draft weekend.
