ABC reveals its new 'View' as Whoopi Goldberg, Rosie O'Donnell, Rosie Perez ...
'The View' came into sharp focus Monday, launching its fall season with a new cast, studio and top brass.
In a studio packed with top ABC executives - and the show's co-creator Barbara Walters tucked away behind the scenes - Whoopi Goldberg, Rosie O'Donnell, Rosie Perez and Nicolle Wallace got off to a genial start, touching on topics ranging from about the latest twist in the NFL's Ray Rice scandal to Goldberg and O'Donnell's massive weight loss.
'I think it went really well,' O'Donnell told The News afterward. 'I don't think it was any secret that I didn't like (former executive producer) Bill Geddie.'
O'Donnell was alluding to her tumultuous exit from the show in 2007.
'There's new direction on top and I was given an opportunity to consult on the direction we're going in now,' she said.
Goldberg and O'Donnell, of course, are 'View' veterans. Perez is a sometime actress who has more recently devoted herself to social justice causes. Wallace was George W. Bush's communications adviser.
