The Simpsons' Premiere: Find Out Who Died!

As promised, the 26th season of The Simpsons premiered tonight by killing off one of its long-time characters. People have been theorizing that Homer or Krusty the Clown would be the one to go (as if), but we actually had to say goodbye to Krusty's father, Rabbi Hyman Krustofsky, voiced by Jackie Mason.

Krusty was naturally feeling down after being severely roasted by comedians (and roast staples) like Jeffrey Ross and Sarah Silverman, and went to visit his father. The rabbi wasn't extremely comforting before saying 'You've always been ehhhh,' and then dropping dead in the middle of his sentence.

While Lisa began to fear the consequences of Homer's not-so-healthy lifestyle, the entire town came together to mourn the loss, and Krusty began to deal with losing the father who never supported him. He even took a trip to clown grief counseling (where mimes were not allowed).

Rabbi Krustofsky first appeared on The Simpsons in 1991 and has been beloved ever since, voiced both by legendary comedian Jackie Mason and Simpsons superstar Dan Castellaneta.

Will you miss Rabbi Krustofsky? Were you surprised to see him go? Let us know in the comments!
