Downed wires disrupt Northeast Corridor Amtrak service
Last updated: Tuesday, September 16, 2014, 6:22 AM
Some Amtrak service along the Northeast Corridor is suspended this morning due to downed wires.
The most recent statement on Amtrak's website says trains temporarily aren't running between Washington, D.C., and Philadelphia.
A later message on an agency Twitter account said service was suspended between D.C. and Wilmington. An Amtrak spokesperson couldn't immediately be reached.
Acela Express and Northeast Regional trains are affected.
Repairs are underway, the agency said.
Amtrak had no estimate for when full service would be restored.
SEPTA said its Regional Rail service was not affected, and trains on the Wilmington/Newark Line are operating between Delaware and Center City.
