FSU ready for Clemson's QB duo
Florida State is preparing to see two quarterbacks when Clemson visits Saturday.
Although senior Cole Stoudt has been steady (38-60, 446 yards and a touchdown), that hasn't stopped the buzz from growing around true freshman Deshaun Watson.
Watson has played sparingly in Clemson's first two games, but has given the Tigers' offense a boost seemingly every time he touches the ball. The former five-star prospect has completed 10 of his 13 attempts and already has four touchdown passes to his credit.
Clemson offensive coordinator Chad Morris insists that Stoudt is the starter and will see the majority of snaps, but also allowed that he'll find a way for Watson to have an impact.
'I've said it a million times now: Cole is our guy,' Morris told the Post and Courier. 'Deshaun's going to play. Cole knows Deshaun's going to play. The whole country knows Deshaun's going to play. Deshaun knows Deshaun's going to play. At what point and how much? That's hard to tell.'
Seminoles coach Jimbo Fisher said that each quarterback brings a unique challenge and said the he sees shades of former Clemson star Tajh Boyd in both.
'We're going to have our hands full,' Fisher said. 'We're going to keep leverage on [the quarterback] enough to stay in the box, but still be able to play the pass. Sometimes you'll have to pick and choose and it becomes a chess match and a guessing game.'

In any other season, Derrick Mitchell's emergence on the Florida State defensive line might come as a pleasant surprise. But given the rash of injuries sustained recently by FSU's defensive tackles, it might well turn out to be crucial.
