San Francisco's coach Jim Harbaugh at odds with squad: report

Despite molding the 49ers into one of the NFL's best teams, things don't seem to be going smoothly for Jim Harbaugh in San Francisco. He's reportedly been at odds with the front office for some time and hasn't been signed to a contract extension even though he's reached the NFC Championship game in each of his three seasons, including a trip to Super Bowl XLVII. He was almost traded to Cleveland during the winter for draft picks but the deal fell through.

Now it appears Harbaugh's relationship with his players is crumbling as well. According to NFL.com, Harbaugh is losing the locker room and may not be as 'all in' as he makes it seem.

The report says some veterans were displeased with Harbaugh's decision to bring the team cross-country to train with his brother John's Baltimore Ravens team for several days over the summer. The two teams opened the preseason facing each other on Aug. 7.

Players have been able to deal with Harbaugh's hard-nosed coaching style and all the offseason chatter because they've been successful, but the report says players are concerned that things will 'spiral out of control' if they start under-performing.

Harbaugh is in the fourth year of a five-year contract and owns a 36-11-1 regular-season record entering San Francisco's 2014 opener against the Cowboys.
