Science, Inc. Acquires PlayHaven Mobile Ad Network

Brand-building company Science, Inc has announced its acquisition of the PlayHaven mobile ad network from Upsight. Upsight was originally launched in March 2014, after the merger of PlayHaven and mobile analytics company Kontagent. This acquisition will see Upsight accelerate investment in its analytics and marketing platform, while Science, Inc. will utilize PlayHaven in its Growth Labs Division, investing in new solutions for mobile advertisers to increase their ad monetization performance.


PlayHaven's ad network covers more than 18,000 games and 245 million monthly active users. This acquisition will see Science, Inc. merging its own mobile marketing unit, Chirp Ads, into PlayHaven. The resulting team will continue to focus on helping mobile businesses and developers acquire and monetize users via advertising.

PlayHaven launched its targeted push notifications system in July 2013. Its ad units include full-screen interstitials, a 'More Games' chart for showing users recommended applications to download, and featured game pre-roll ads. Advertisers and publishers currently using the PlayHaven network will experience no change in service as a result of this acquisition, and all advertising campaigns will run as scheduled. In addition, Upsight customers that leverage the platform will continue to have access to PlayHaven's network.
