Andre Johnson shines for fantasy owners while DeAndre Hopkins disappears
It was the veteran receiver outshining the young wideout for the first time this year. We break down the fantasy implications.
Andre Johnson caught seven passes for 99 yards and a touchdown in Week 6 against the Indianapolis Colts. He was targeted a team-high 12 targets while hauling in his first score of the 2014 season.
DeAndre Hopkins was nowhere to be found on Thursday night. He had a pass knocked loose from his hands on the first Texans drive of the game, and after that point, he was targeted just one other time by Ryan Fitzpatrick. Hopkins finished with one reception for 12 yards.
Fantasy impact: Unfortunately, Johnson fumbled one the last drive for the Texans, ultimately ending the game. But that doesn't matter much for fantasy owners who were thrilled to see Johnson return to his old form. Johnson's touchdown catch in the second quarter was a beauty, as he simply outplayed Greg Toler to bring the ball down in the end zone.
Meanwhile, Hopkins got the cold shoulder from Fitzpatrick. For the majority of the game, it appeared that Fitzpatrick was only looking to one side of the field, targeting Johnson even if he was covered. It's hard to tell what the real situation is here, but Hopkins will certainly bounce back from this miserable performance.
