Taylor Swift Checks In at “Late Show with David Letterman” as 1989 Projected to ...

During her interview, Taylor talked about becoming pals with Lena Dunham via Twitter- 'I googled her and I saw her quoting my lyrics and I thought, she has to be doing that ironically, she has to be making fun of me...I have this big looser complex from school.'

'[But I realized she] likes my music and it wasn't ironic at all. Then we met in person...and we've been best friends ever since.'

Additionally, Swift addressed the naysayers who have criticized her new role as official ambassador for the City of New York- 'I don't get any money for that, but I have a song called Welcome to New York and I recently moved here. When I love something I am very vocal about it... I love it with like 18 exclamation marks underneath it, and underlined. I'm like the most obnoxious person to ever loudly love New York and I think they picked up on that.'

Taylor's 1989 album sold 600,000 copies in its first 24 hours and is on track to moving one million units before the week is up. That would make her the only singer to have three million-selling albums in a row!
