Columbus Blue Jackets' Nick Foligno stretchered off ice after scary collision
This is scary to watch. Columbus Blue Jackets forward Nick Foligno had to be stretchered off the ice during Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Kings after his head connected with a linesman's hip during a check along the boards.
That's Foligno skating along the boards wearing 71. In a battle for the puck, Foligno takes a relatively minor hip check into the boards from Jeff Carter but is unable to move his head out of the way before it connects with the linesman.
Foligno falls to the ground and doesn't move for a few very scary moments. Even though he was eventually able to raise his arms, team officials brought out the stretcher to get him off the ice.
Despite how bad that looks, Foligno was able to give the crowd a reassuring hand wave as he was wheeled out. The Blue Jackets also say they think he's going to be 'fine.'
