Fly, you fools! 'Hobbit' stars take off in epic airline safety video

Air New ZealandOne does not simply walk onto a plane and ignore the safety video -- not on Air New Zealand, anyway, where Elijah Wood, Peter Jackson and stars of 'The Hobbit' films appear in 'The Most Epic Safety Video Ever Made.'
Air New Zealand -- the official airline of Middle-earth, apparently -- flies to and from the land where director Peter Jackson filmed the 'Lord of the Rings' and 'The Hobbit' movies over the past decade or so. The series comes to an end this Christmas when 'The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies' follows 'The Desolation of Smaug' and 'An Unexpected Journey' into cinemas. Stars of the movies are encouraging visitors to Middle-earth to buckle up -- so stow your Bilbo baggage, fasten your seatbelts and feast your elf eyes on the video below:
Shot over six days in various Middle-earth locations, including Hobbiton and Central Otago, 'The Most Epic Safety Video Ever Made' opens with two passionate 'LOTR' fans finding themselves flying alongside erstwhile Frodo Baggins, Elijah Wood -- still looking all of eleven years old -- who's joined by Dean O'Gorman, former 'Doctor Who' Sylvester McCoy, Weta effects guru Sir Richard Taylor and Peter Jackson himself in advising you what to do when the orc-xygen masks drop or the beacon of the seatbelt sign is lit.
Also on board is Japanese baseball star Naoyuki Shimizu, and Māori actor and director Taika Waititi.
As if that's not enough, you also find out how people in business class brace for impact -- not for them any undignified bending double; they simply sit up straight, no doubt sipping champagne to the last.
It's not the first time Air New Zealand has recruited a fellowship of famous folk to get the message across aboard their giant eagles: previous safety videos from the airline include another Hobbit-themed safety movie last year and a briefing from outdoorsman and urine-quaffer Bear Grylls.
