Geno Smith throws 3 INTs in first quarter; Michael Vick replaces him
Less than 11 minutes into the game vs. Buffalo, Jets quarterback Geno Smith is being benched for the second time in four games. This time, it's because Smith threw three interceptions in the first quarter, leading coach Rex Ryan to the logical conclusion that backup quarterback Michael Vick -- no matter how well prepared he is or is not -- couldn't be much worse.
Here's why:
With 8:47 to play in the first quarter, Smith was aiming for Percy Harvin on a deep ball on the left sideline. Except he underthrew the ball, and Stephon Gilmore intercepted it.
With 6:19 to play in the first quarter, Smith was trying to hit Jeff Cumberland on a deep ball on the left sideline. Except he underthrew the ball again, and Preston Brown picked it.
THEN, with 4:49 to play in the first quarter, Smith was looking for Eric Decker when the pass was snatched out of the air by Aaron Williams.
That's three interceptions in about four minutes. And that's why Vick immediately put on his helmet and took over.
If you'd like to see all of them in just seconds, take a look.
Poor, poor Jets fans.
Jets fans are vomiting in the aisles.

Smith finished 2 of 8 for five yards, meaning he completed more passes to the Bills than to his own team.
Meanwhile, Vick immediately led the team on a touchdown drive.
