Romo, Murray out of practice on Wednesday

While the Cowboys aren't yet in full-blown injury emergency mode, they're moving in that direction. Especially with the two guys deemed to be most likely to derail the session if they get hurt.

Missing practice on Wednesday were quarterback Tony Romo and running back DeMarco Murray. For Romo, it's not a surprise; he currently doesn't practice on Wednesdays, due to his back problems. But he also is listed as having an ankle injury.

On Wednesday's PFT Live, Charean Williams of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram said that Romo may end up missing Thursday's practice, too. (She also said Romo has a rib injury, which isn't surprising given the hit he took from Seahawks linebacker Bobby Wagner on Sunday.) If Romo can't practice either day, he won't be as ready to go as he otherwise could be or should be.

As to Murray, he missed practice with an illness. The illness was not disclosed. (Giants owner Steve Tisch has yet to comment.)

A few weeks ago, Bears defensive end Jared Allen was missing practices with an undisclosed illness. And he ended up having pneumonia, losing 18 pounds, and missing the game against the Packers.
