Teresa Giudice is set to spend most of 2015 in prison and the Real Housewives of New Jersey star is taking steps to try to make her absence less painful for her four young daughters.

The 42-year-old reality star and her husband, Bravo reality show co-star and the girls' father, , had in March both Joe Giudice pleaded guilty to bankruptcy fraud and conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud. Earlier this month, a judge sentenced Teresa to 15 months behind bars, which she is to begin serving on Jan. 5, while Joe, who also pleaded guilty to tax evasion, was ordered to serve 41 months in prison .

His sentence is set to begin after Teresa is released so that one parent can be with their four daughters, Gia, 13, Gabriella, 10, Milania, 8, and Audriana, 5.

As is the case with many people convicted of non-violent crimes, both may end up serving shortened sentences.

Teresa plans to record for her and Joe's daughters personal videos that they'll be able to watch while she is serving her sentence, E! News has learned. Joe, 42, is not taking part in the project, a source said, and he and his wife have also not yet told all of their children that they're going to prison. The couple has not commented.

'Teresa is still very much in denial about the fact she's going away,' the source told E! News. 'If she had her way, they would never tell the younger girls. They're definitely avoiding the talk for as long as possible.'

After their day in court, the couple was interviewed on Bravo's Watch What Happens Live. Teresa said she was'shocked' to learn about her fate.

'I just think about my daughters,' she said. 'That's all I think about.'

Recent rumors suggest the legal case may have affected their marriage. The source told E! that the pair is not, contrary to reports, sleeping in separate bedrooms.

Another rumor has said Teresa may be planning a tell-all book. The source told E! News that the reality star has not met with or heard from potential publishers.

As for her legal woes, the source also said that despite recent reports, Teresa has not filed documents to contest her sentencing, although she has met with a lawyer about it. She and Joe have not commented.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday, Joe headed back to court, without Teresa, to deal with a separate case, in which he is accused of using his brother's marriage and birth certificates to obtain a driver's license in 2010, when his own license was suspended after he was arrested for driving under the influence. He initially rejected a plea deal, which could have led to a trial and a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison if convicted.

He then changed his mind and pleaded guilty to possession of a fraudulent driver's license and a judge sentenced him to 18 months in prison. He is to serve that time concurrently with his 41-month sentence, meaning he won't get extra time behind bars.
