Wozniacki beats Radwanska in straight sets to move to brink of semis at WTA ...

SINGAPORE - Caroline Wozniacki moved closer to a place in the semifinals at the WTA Finals by beating Agnieszka Radwanska 7-5, 6-3 on Thursday.

Wozniacki, with two wins from two matches in Singapore, will be assured of a semifinal berth if Maria Sharapova beats Petra Kvitova in the later White Group match.

The match began with four breaks of serve in the opening five games, and Wozniacki broke again in the penultimate game to take a hard-fought first set that lasted an hour and seven minutes.

After a break each, the second set was evenly poised until Wozniacki broke in the seventh game for a 4-3 lead, held serve and then broke again to end it.
