OKC Thunder prepare for scoreboard standoff with Mavs
OKLAHOMA CITY - After bouncing back with a win against the Phoenix Suns, the Oklahoma City Thunder is hoping to move another game into the win column on Wednesday night against the Dallas Mavericks.
Russell Westbrook rebounded back to the court against the Suns following a season-ending injury last year during the playoffs.
He finished the game with 21 points, shooting just 5-of-16 with seven assists and four rebounds.
While the team was a little sluggish through most of the game, Westbrook's energy was on overload in the fourth quarter.
Durant and Westbrook were able to rack up 36 points in the fourth quarter as Durant finished the game with 33 points and 10 rebounds.
Despite shooting just 42.7 percent from the field and 11 percent from the three-point line, the Thunder was still able to grab the 103-96 win over the Suns.
The Oklahoma City Thunder will need to get into a better rhythm when it takes on the Dallas Mavericks Wednesday night.
In addition to Dirk Nowitzki, Monta Ellis is also lighting up the scoreboard for the Mavs this season.
In the last game against the Lakers, Ellis scored 30 points and had nine assists in the 123-104 win.
Ellis was 11-of-14 from the field and made all eight of his free throws.
The Oklahoma City Thunder will work on the defensive end to get the ball from the Mavs and create offense.
Currently, the Thunder leads the league with 21 opposing turnovers per game.
Thunder coaches are already working with the team to get players moving around the court, to create better scoring opportunities.
The Mavericks have won three games at home but their one loss was away at the Houston Rockets.
The Oklahoma City Thunder will take on the Mavericks at Chesapeake Energy Arena on Wednesday.
Tipoff is scheduled for 8:30 p.m.
Fans can watch the game on ESPN.
