USC pulls stunning upset of No. 5 Stanford with 47

Andre Heidari, for the win.

With 19 seconds to play, USC's Andre Heidari kicked a 47-yard field goal to secure the Trojans' huge upset over No. 5 Stanford on Saturday night in a victory that could help Ed Orgeron become a serious candidate to switch his interim label to permanent.

The crowd obviously went wild and rushed the field.

'I knew I was taking a chance,' Orgeron said after the game. 'But I looked in the eyes of those guys and I knew they wanted a chance to win the game. Obviously if we didn't make it, they could have gone down and kicked a field goal and won. I understood that. But I had a gut belief.'
