Drake Says 'Rolling Stone' Pulled His Cover Last Minute
Drake has a few bones to pick with Rolling Stone. Actually, two, if we're being specific.
First off, Drake isn't happy to see that the magazine pulled his cover, which was slated to be his first. In a tweet from early this morning (Feb. 13), the rapper implies that the change happened in the final hour, writing, 'They also took my cover from me last minute and ran the issue.'
Rolling Stone decided, rightly, that the cover should serve as a memorial to the late Philip Seymour Hoffman. Drake instead gets a nod in the top left corner with the title, 'At Home With Hip-Hop's Lonely Prince.'
In a second tweet, Drake writes, 'I'm disgusted with that. RIP to Phillip Seymour Hoffman. All respect due. But the press is evil.'
The second problem Drake has with the mag is a supposed portion of the interview where he comments on Kanye West's latest album, Yeezus. Drake tweets that those quotes are fabricated and that he never spoke about Yeezus. RealTalkNY reports that a scan of the article says that Drake said, 'There were some real questionable bars on there. Like that, 'Swaghilli,' line? Come on man. Even Fabolous wouldn't say some s*** like that.'
Drake does not however address the quotes that the magazine released about Macklemore, in which he says the rapper's apology text to Kendrick Lamar after winning Best Rap Album at last month's GRAMMYs was 'wack as f***.' Leading everyone to believe that those comments are in fact true, and he is still waiting for an apology from Macklemore.
All of this though leads to Drake's final Twitter statement, posted 14 minutes after the first initial tweet on the subject, 'I'm done doing interviews for magazines. I just want to give my music to the people. That's the only way my message gets across accurately.'
